More Action, More Aid: A performance-based CAP for a sustainable and resilient European Agriculture
In June 2018 the EC presented its proposal for the CAP after 2020. The key innovation of the proposed new delivery model is a switch from compliance to a performance-based system. This means the EC sets certain indicators to measure the performance of Member States and farmers and distributes the money according to the results. Unfortunately, the indicators proposed by the EC are rather weak and insufficient to measure actual performance. Therefore, the ALDE AGRI team is organizing a dedicated event to bring together stakeholders from different Member States and scientific backgrounds.
The objective is to define criteria and elements for a solid system to establish and use indicators that will allow assessing the real performance of the CAP as regards the impact on the environment, climate change, modernisation and innovation and the response to societal demands of the CAP.
