Connected vehicles have the potential to change the way in which we live and simplify our lifestyles.

As we advance towards a driverless future, we need to start thinking about the challenges and questions on how connectivity and mobility will affect all aspects, from more technical questions to consumer safety, the economic impact on the Single Market and current EU legislation, the transformation of the European automotive industry, and the interaction with Member States' urban transport.

With this prospect coming closer to reality, ALDE has decided to bring together the consumers, stakeholders, and legislators at an early stage of this transformation for a high-level hearing that will be complemented by the demonstration of a self-driving car. Günther Oettinger, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, will give the keynote speech.
