The Only Way is App

The Digital Economy is one of the key priorities of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament. How can we increase the attractiveness of innovative companies in the EU? How can we boost growth and job creation in the new "App economy"?

This conference will allow key stakeholders from the digital economy, as well as policymakers, to discuss the possibilities for making Europe count. The number of "Apps" in today's economy is growing, but it is essential to understand what kind of regulation, if any, the European institutions need to implement in order to meet the needs of innovative applications and to allow this sector to continue to flourish in Europe.

After an introduction by Guy Verhofstadt, the Vice-President Ansipfor Digital Single Market will give a keynote speech followed by formerVice-President Kroes. Representatives of today’s major applications, including Uber andSkype, will take part in the discussion. Interpretation will be provided in English and French. This event will be live streamed.
