Water science reaching policy and industry: Recommendations and outlook
This Conference follows up the event taking place on the 3rd of December at the International Auditorium in Brussels, jointly organized by the STREAM and STEP-WISE projects. The 3rd and 4th December events are aimed at presenting concrete instruments to facilitate the dialogue between researchers, politicians and research-users in water research. This second day at the European Parliament is hosted by Mrs. Gutierrez Cortines, Member of the Parliament, and it will be an occasion to debate science-policy interfacing (SPI) on a high level base with the participation of MEPs, European Commission officials, national and regional politicians, researchers, industry representatives as well as other interested stakeholders and participants from other projects and to illustrate the needs for coordination between policy, research and business to enable best use of research and technologies developed on water. The main guideline for this discussion will be the roadmap developed out of the workshop sessions held on the first day, which will be presented for further improvement and finalization as a set of recommendations for SPI in water research.
